Pink Baby

When Sophie was a newborn she was given a pink baby from one of my mom's friends. Very quickly it became evident to everyone that the pink baby was very important. It was so important that I searched online until I was able to buy 2 extra pink babies (for the just in case backup). Pink baby has gone everywhere with Sophie - every holiday, doctor visit, bed time, nap time - you get the picture.

In fact, on our visit to Cyprus in 2006 Sophie had "Pink Baby" and 1 of the extra pink babies. We were looking at some new hair bands so Sophie had to put Pink Baby down. You guessed it - we walked away with Pink Baby still on the ground. After an hour or so we get back to the apartment & Sophie is getting ready for bed. She starts frantically looking for Pink Baby but can't find her anywhere. So being the good mother that I am, I lock the girls in the apartment (Kevin is in bed sick) giving them strict instructions to not open the door for anyone! I retrace all of our steps only to find Pink Baby in the garbage can next to the hair bands. She was lucky that trip; however, the extra baby did go missing on this trip never to be found :-(

Pink Baby has been with Sophie through so much. Sophie even has a special way of holding Pink Baby - upside down, by her right leg, so she can smell Pink Baby while sucking her thumb.

Pink Baby eventually became known as brown baby or dirty baby, but she was very important to Sophie! Well, after returning from Switzerland Sophie still had Pink Baby (5+ years and counting). But about 2 weeks ago, Pink Baby went missing. We think she might have been packed with the Christmas decorations; if not, we have no idea...

Pink Baby, we will miss you greatly but always remember you! Love you Pink Baby!!!

Lordy, Lordy look who's 40!

I know it has been A LONG time since I have blogged. I would love to have some great excuse but the truth is I just haven't felt like it (or to borrow from my British friends "I just couldn't be bothered). Please don't be too mad at me...I will try to catch up. I will start with the easiest post.

You know I remember my parents being 40. I never thought of them as old at that age, but I didn't think of them as young either :-) (sorry guys). I wasn't looking to forward to turning 40 because there were goals that I knew I would not be meeting. Well, I guess you just keep trying.

So here is the run down of the celebrations - while we were skiing Sarah made me a cake (while I snored on the couch) and gave me slippers & a book which became my newest obsession (TWILIGHT - awesome read & movie). Kevin promises to buy me a clock during our trip to Germany in March & the girls keep reminding him so that one should be good as well.

But the best surprise of all came from my wonderful friends in the Thursday Bible Study group. I was hosting the 2nd session for this book and had no idea that they had connived behind my back. Deena shows up dressed like an old lady, scooting along very slowly, and asked was this the old ladies study group. And then the others continued to show up. They gave me purple balloons, a purple plant, an awesome cake, a gorgeous set of pictures of Stamford (I was so wanting one of these too - yea!), and tons of laughs. I was so surprised & honored. THANK YOU to all the wonderful friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sarah being the scrapbook-er that she is put the following together for me. I hope you enjoy!
